Following a public appearance at a 9/11 ceremony, health speculations about President Trump arose. Press Secretary Leavitt reassured the public of his fitness, and a White House physician reported no serious health issues, despite mild swelling in his lower legs.
New concerns about US President Donald Trump’s health emerged following his public appearance with First Lady Melania Trump at a 9/11 memorial service on Thursday.
The service marked 24 years since the terrorist attacks and was held at the Pentagon Memorial near Washington.

Trump health concerns
Donald Trump, 79, has also sparked worries when he was spotted with a bruise on his hand. His physician, Sean Barbabella, admitted to Trump having bruises, saying, “This is consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.” He added that the President was otherwise in ‘excellent cognitive and physical health’ and said that the bruises could also be from aspirin Trump takes to prevent cardiovascular diseases.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also issued a statement to the Independent clarifying the matter, saying, “He is a man of the people, and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other President in history. His commitment is unwavering, and he proves that every single day.” Leavitt also said that Trump underwent a “comprehensive exam” which included vascular testing. It revealed that he suffers from a chronic vein condition. There were also recent unfounded rumors about he having died, when the President didn’t have press events scheduled over the Labor Day weekend.

Reactions On Social Media
During the ceremony, some people on social media noticed that Trump’s mouth appeared to droop to the right side of his face, sparking worries about his physical and mental health.
Many suggested he might have experienced a minor stroke or TIA (transient ischemic attack), while others said he looked tired or shaken following the recent assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

On X, one user wrote, “He looks like he has had a TIA/minor stroke. This isn’t a one-off expression, he’s been like this for 30 minutes.”
Another added that he appeared to fall asleep during the ceremony and that his facial droop lasted for a while.
The White House has not commented on the latest health concerns.
Paying Tribute To Charlie Kirk
During the memorial, he paid tribute to Kirk, who was shot dead at the age of 31 at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. He praised Kirk’s courage and influence on young people, saying, “We miss him greatly. Yet I have no doubt that Charlie’s voice and the courage that he put into the hearts of countless people… will live on.”

Trump also announced he will posthumously award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth compared Kirk to those who lost their lives on 9/11.
Previous Health Rumours
Earlier in September, audio from an interview with Scott Jennings, a former special assistant to President George W Bush, raised similar health questions.
Trump sounded congested and tired while discussing international matters, leading to speculation that he might have had COVID or another illness. However, the White House dismissed these rumours.

Giving a follow up memo on Trump’s condition, the White House physician Sean Barbarella said that he is in ‘excellent condition’ and dismissed speculations around deep vein thrombosis but ‘noted mild swelling in his lower legs’. He claimed that there were ‘no signs of heart failure, renal impairment, or systemic illness.
