Joshua Fay Saunders, widely known by his online moniker KingCobraJFS, has died at the age of 34. The Natrona County Coroner’s Office confirmed his passing in a statement released Friday. The cause of death remains unknown at this time.
“The Natrona County Coroner’s Office in conjunction with The Casper Police Department is investigating a death that occurred on August 21, 2025, in the 100 block of North Forest Drive,” the statement said.
“Natrona County Coroner James Whipps has identified the decedent as 34-year-old Joshua Fay Saunders of Casper, WY. An autopsy has been scheduled, and Next of Kin has been notified. The investigation is ongoing and further information surrounding the circumstances of the death will be released later.”
A video of Saunders’ father announcing his son’s death has since circulated online. In the now-deleted video, which was originally uploaded to Saunders’ own YouTube channel, his father said Joshua was found unresponsive in his Casper apartment during a wellness check.
The clip was later reposted to X (formerly Twitter) by user Slacker Blue Pod. In the emotional footage, Saunders’ father explained that he had initially logged into his son’s accounts to delete them out of grief, but ultimately decided against it. He expressed that his son would not have wanted his content erased and acknowledged the strong connection Joshua had with his fanbase.
Saunders’ father also reflected on his son’s lifelong struggle with bullying and online harassment, recalling that from the time he was three, Joshua was harassed nonstop. “So many people thought picking on him was okay. But he did matter.”

In 2019, he was a victim of “swatting,” when someone called the police pretending to be him and reported a fake crime.
In 2020, he was notified of an eviction, likely due to smoking indoors and other risky behaviors. He later moved to a new apartment where he continued his habits. In December 2022, he was arrested for public intoxication after smoking near flammable materials at a gas station.
Joshua also faced controversy over animal mistreatment, including the death of his praying mantis, Mrs. Green, which he later sold as a decorative item, and the neglect of an adopted bearded dragon named Puff, who disappeared after being exposed to extreme cold.

KingCobraJFS’s father confirms his death
Joshua’s father, Clint, shared a video on the YouTuber’s channel confirming his death. The video has now been deleted where Clint stated that he had gone to check up on his son, but found him unresponsive. Clint confirmed that the musician had passed away at the age of 34. His father also emotionally shared in the video how Joshua was ‘bullied terribly his whole life’. In the now-deleted video, Clint stated:
“I got on today to delete all of his social media… because ‘f**k you’ is how I’m feeling. But I realized that would not be fair to his fans, and it’s certainly nothing he would want. As you all know, Josh was harassed and bullied terribly his whole life. From the time he was 3, it was just nonstop. It was like he had a neon sign that said ‘Please pick on me’.”

Apart from this, Joshua’s father also revealed that his son had struggled with mental health issues. Especially, the death of his best friend, Aaron and the demise of rock metal legend, Ozzy Osbourne, had been a huge shock to the YouTuber. Clint also stated that his son was ‘suicidal most of his life’, but he also thanked his fans and said:
“You guys helped more than you could ever know because you made him feel like a person.”

Although an official medical report is still pending, Joshua’s family claims he passed away in his sleep, contrary to earlier beliefs that it was a suicide.

Amid his issues with drinking, he also received a considerable amount of alcohol from fans, who encouraged him to mix and experiment with different drinks.
