India has long claimed that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) is an integral part of its territory.

The two countries have fought three wars over Kashmir, and

the Line of Control (LoC) divides the region into two parts.

There are a number of ways that India could potentially get back POK.

One option would be to use military force.

However, this would be a risky and costly option, and it is not clear that India would be successful.

Another option would be to try to negotiate a settlement with Pakistan.

A third option would be to try to isolate Pakistan economically and diplomatically.

This would put pressure on Pakistan to make concessions on Kashmir.
