Hamas has released all 20 remaining living Israeli hostages under a ceasefire deal.

The release is part of a U.S.-brokered agreement involving prisoner swaps and halting military operations. 

Donald Trump, arriving in Israel, declared “the war is over” in reference to the agreement.

Israel will free ~1,900 Palestinian prisoners in return, including those with life sentences. 

Despite the announcement, major hurdles remain — disarmament of Hamas, governance of Gaza, and lasting peace.
